We’re incredibly proud to reveal that the Precision Facades team has raised an astonishing £8,130 for SHARE, our nominated charity in 2024. Our Director, Steve McGowan and Estimator, Phil Latham were pleased to formally present the final amount to Adam Dandy, Co-Founder of SHARE last week.
SHARE aims to support people without a home, either in the UK or abroad by providing basic needs such as a warm meal, a safe place to sleep or access to vital resources that can help individuals or families get back on their feet. It is an incredibly worthwhile cause and so the entire team worked hard to raise the much-needed funds for the charity.
The total amount was raised across three separate events. First up was an adventurous sponsored hike up Wales’ highest mountain, Snowdon (or Yr Wyddfa in Welsh!) which took place back in June. Despite it supposedly being summer, our team braved some testing weather conditions to climb 1,085 meters in an impressive 2 hours and 26 minutes, raising almost £5,000 for the charity.
Next up, we organised a slightly less challenging, but none the less competitive charity golf day at Carden Park in September. The event was attended by 60 players from our many supply chain partners and was incredibly successful, raising almost £3,000 for SHARE. Congratulations to our winners, Joe Birch from Precision, Jack Hook from Legacie, Mark Collinge from Quay Squared and Liam Blears from FSi.
We received some fantastic feedback from the day, including the below from Phil Atkinson at BTS:
“After such a brilliant day and night, Brian, Ben and myself all felt compelled to formally thank you and all your colleagues involved in the day.
As discussed during the golf, we were blown away with your kindness, the overall hospitality was amazing, and we all felt very lucky to be invited.
The day was all about SHARE and the money raised which was astonishing. It was a privilege to hear firsthand about the inspirational work SHARE do.
Overall, great weather, great company, fantastic course and setting.”
And lastly, a huge thank you and well done to our Estimator, Phil Latham who singlehandedly raised nearly £500 of the total amount for SHARE by taking on the Chester Triple, consisting of a 10K, Half Marathon and Metric Marathon, as well as a 110-mile bike ride as part of the Tour de Manc cycle race and joining the rest of the Precision team in climbing Mount Snowdon.
Steve McGowan says
“I’m incredibly proud of our amazing team who have gone above and beyond in raising these funds for SHARE, a local charity close to our hearts. Between them, they’ve organised these events, asked friends and family to donate and encouraged others to take part. Well done everyone!”
Adam Dandy, Co-Founder at SHARE adds:
“£8,130 will make a huge difference to what we do at SHARE, and we’d like to thank the entire team at Precision Facades for committing their time and energy to raising these vital funds for our charity. We truly appreciate it.”
